Giraffe’s tongue can be up to 45cm long, and its color is dark blue or black to protect it from the sun. Their tongue does not have any taste buds, and their rough texture can strip leaves off the branches. They have a prehensile tongue, which means they can wrap it around branches. Furthermore, the tongue is immensely flexible and muscular, and it can taste the difference between leaves and thorns. Giraffes use their tongues to help regulate their body temperature and can drink up to 10 liters of water in one sitting.
