Cougar
The cougar, also known as the mountain lion, is a large, solitary cat native to the Americas. They are powerful hunters and can take down prey much larger than themselves, including deer and elk. Cougars are stealthy and elusive, and are known for their ability to jump up to 20 feet in a single bound. Unfortunately, due to habitat destruction and hunting, cougars have become endangered and their populations are declining. Conservation efforts are being made to protect these majestic animals.
