There are currently nine recognized subspecies of giraffes: the Masai giraffe, the reticulated giraffe, the northern giraffe, the southern giraffe, the Rothschild’s giraffe, the Nubian giraffe, the Kordofan giraffe, the Angolan giraffe, and the West African giraffe.
