Zebra
The zebra is a striped African equid, closely related to horses and donkeys. It is easily recognizable due to its unique black and white stripes pattern. Zebras are social animals that live in groups called “harems” consisting of one stallion, several mares, and their offspring. They are herbivores and primarily feed on grass and leaves. Zebras are prey to many predators such as lions, hyenas, and wild dogs. They are famous for their defensive behavior, which includes using their powerful kicks to fend off attackers. Conservation efforts are in place to protect the zebra population, which has been affected by habitat loss and hunting.
